Hi Reader,
Welcome to the third edition of the Vitality Newsletter – inspiring, educating and supporting heart-centred, professional women to create and sustain vitality at work and at home.
As this newsletter goes out, I am returning from my first sun-destination vacation in over three years. (Thanks global pandemic!) For someone who has been going South annually for almost 30 years, these last 3 winters have felt very loooong. As much as I try to embrace the winters with snowshoeing, winter hiking and bonfires, I miss the sun’s warmth…and honestly, have missed the SUN this past winter. The sun, and these getaways, are a vitality booster for me. I come back feeling refreshed, re-inspired and ready to re-engage. For this, I am grateful.
This past month I have continued talking about vitality and how it helps us show up as our best selves. You can check it out on the blog here:
The Vitality ‘Secret’ to Transforming Goals into Life-Changing Results
I also wanted to express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone who expressed interest in, supported and/or registered for my new beta course, Create Space for Vitality: Align your time, energy and priorities with your purpose. Although the course registration is now closed, keep your eye on future newsletters to be the first to know about any new offerings. Psst… rumour has it, only those on my email list will be privy to discounts.

The Reflection of the Month is an opportunity for you to set aside time and put pen to paper to learn more about yourself. Increasing awareness of yourself is often the key to change and maximizing personal and professional potential.
It’s commonly known that motivation is a factor for achievement, and specifically intrinsic motivation. A social-cognitive theory of motivation is Self-Determination Theory, proposed by Deci and Ryan (Ryan & Deci, 2000). The theory suggests that people are motivated to grow and change by three innate and universal psychological needs:
Competence
Autonomy
Relatedness - the need to feel connected and a sense of belongingness with others.
When you can choose what you wish to work on, it fulfills a need for autonomy and allows you to choose areas where you feel you can be or become competent. When we feel connected and a sense of belongingness with others in our circle of support, our motivation for personal and professional growth is strengthened. Fulfilling these needs is important when choosing and working on areas of growth.
Who’s in your Circle of Support?
Bring to mind one goal that you are currently working on or are ready to to start working on. Who do you need/want in your circle of support? How will having this support/resource help you achieve your goal(s)?
Starting tomorrow, April 25, 2022, I will be working with a number of heart centred, passion-driven professional women as we dive into aligning our time, energy and priorities with our purpose. I’ll be sharing some of the highlights in IG and FB stories.
May 16 - 22 is International Coaching Week. For the month of May I will be sharing more about what coaching is, how it differs from therapy and consulting AND how ICF Coaching is different from what other organizations may consider coaching.
If you’re curious about coaching and how it could be helpful in your stage of life or work, why not book a free consultation to experience it for yourself.

Hi Reader, here’s how to improve your and your team’s well-being 'The way of the Sage is ease and flow.' ~ Shirzad Chamine The 'inner critic(s)', the ‘itty bitty shitty committee’, the ‘devil on your shoulder’. These are all names for what Shirzad Chamine has coined the Saboteurs in his Positive IntelligenceⓇ (PQ) Program We all have them. The voice that keeps you awake in the middle of the night. The voice that sabotages your performance and robs you of your happiness by causing stress,...
Hello Reader, "Spring is the time of plans and projects" ~ Leo Tolstoy Happy Spring! It’s been a long winter here in Canada. Although it’s been unseasonably warm, we haven’t had much sunshine in Southern Ontario. In fact, this has been the darkest winter in over 70 years. To brighten up my winter, I returned to an old hobby of mine that I haven’t done in a long time - quilting. It’s a hobby I picked up when my boys were young. It got me out of the house one night per week to go to an open...
